The Festival du Voyageur is an yearly 10-day winter festival taking place in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Canada in February. It celebrates the "Voyageur" which refers to those who worked for a fur trading company and usually traveled by canoe.
This event is Western Canada's largest winter festival and celebrates Canada's fur trading past, French heritage and culture through entertainment and displays of art and crafts, music and exhibits.
When Provencher Park become too small for the growing number of attendees log cabins, that are a permanent display, were
constructed in Whittier Park forming the area now known as Fort Gibraltar.
