Assiniboine Park Zoo
Located in Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park, the Assiniboine Park Zoo is a great family-friendly Winnipeg attraction.
In 1904 the City of Winnipeg Parks Board started the zoo by purchasing native animals which included deer, bison, and elk. In 1908, the bear enclosure was built, and by 1909, the zoo had 116 animals of 19 species.
Now with close to 400 species in its collection, the Assiniboine Park Zoo is a great place for an up-close viewing of animals from all corners of the world.
