The Forks
The Forks, nestled in the heart of downtown at the junction of the Assiniboine and Red rivers, is called Winnipeg's meeting place.
The Forks has become one of Winnipeg's most loved places to visit with lots to see and do.
The Forks has been a meeting place for over 6,000 years. Early Aboriginal peoples, European fur traders, Métis buffalo hunters, Scottish settlers, riverboat workers, railway pioneers and tens of thousands of immigrants traded at The Forks.
The architecture of The Forks is very unique as the site was once a CNR railway facility. The various remaining buildings have been meticulously restored and today support a wide variety of interesting shops and services.
